0:00 What if you could publish an article today and see it on Google's first page within a week
0:04 using only free tools with less than 30 minutes of your time?
0:08 Now, this isn't just possible, it's repeatable.
0:11 Let me show you how you can do this yourself.
0:13 My name is Caleb Alku and I built a seven-figure SEO agency
0:16 and have helped hundreds of others start and grow their own.
0:20 Today, I'm sharing my fastest ranking strategy yet.
0:23 This isn't about building backlinks or social signals or waiting months for results.
0:27 This is a shortcut.
0:28 We're going to leverage another domain's authority and relevance to get our content to rank.
0:34 At the end of this video, I'm going to share the exact AI prompts we use at my agency to make this happen.
0:40 Google's current algorithm near the end of 2024 is heavily favored toward domains that it highly trusts.
0:47 The algorithm also rewards articles on domains that have a lot of topical relevance.
0:51 If you went and published an article about water heater replacement on WebMD.com, it would not rank very well,
0:57 even though WebMD is of course a very trusted domain. But if you wrote an article about a
1:02 specific medical term, it would likely rank very well almost immediately on WebMD. So the shortcut
1:08 I'm talking about requires a domain that one, Google trusts, two, has topical relevance on a lot
1:14 of different topics, and three, allows anyone to easily publish content. And luckily that domain
1:20 exists. It's medium.com. Now medium is a powerful multi-topic domain, perfect for a strategy and
1:27 what we're trying to do here. Now first I want to show you look at these traffic
1:31 stats for medium ridiculous growth from 9 million to over 30 million monthly
1:36 visitors following last year's Google update and best of all you can create an
1:40 account and publish on medium.com in just minutes. So I'm gonna break this down
1:45 step by step. So step one keyword research we're going to use AI to generate
1:51 a list of low competition long tail keywords on topics that you can
1:55 monetize. So if you're selling services and linked to your site, that's perfectly fine. Medium allows that.
2:02 If you're using affiliate link, that's also fine. Medium allows that also, as long as you disclose that you're using affiliate links.
2:09 I wanted to show you the very specific guidelines for Medium on what you can and can do to monetize your content You can read this in more detail on medium website if you want to but a couple of quick suggestions that we had success with on this strategy the first you could use local content
2:24 to generate leads for local businesses an article about water heater replacement in houston for
2:29 example you'd use soft call to actions links to informational pages and proper disclosure or you
2:35 You could write content about SEO for plumbers in Houston to grow your own agency.
2:40 A plumber in Houston might search how to do SEO for a plumber in Houston.
2:44 Very low competition, long tail keyword.
2:46 Your content would be ranking for that.
2:48 You could also focus on building your own community or email list
2:52 and later monetize your audience with offers, paid tiers, affiliates,
2:56 one-on-one coaching, or a variety of other ways to monetize an audience.
3:00 Now to find the right keywords for your topic, we want long tail keywords, low competition.
3:05 So here's a generalized version of the prompt we use. This is quite long and I'm going to go ahead
3:10 and make this available for free at my school community. I have a link in the description so
3:14 that you can join it and grab this so you won't need to copy it all down. Because of how general
3:19 that prompt is it might be a little hard to understand. So let me show you the exact prompt
3:23 that my agency used specifically to find keywords targeting SEO for plumbing. Our goal was to get
3:30 new clients in the local seo plumbing space again this prompt is going to be available in my free
3:36 school community now if you want to check these keywords to see if they're competitive or not
3:40 ahrefs has a free keyword explorer tool that you can go ahead and use you can also very simply type
3:46 these suggested keywords into google and look at the websites that are currently ranking and how
3:51 strong they are for a lot of the suggested keywords that i get from ai when i check them a refs gives
3:57 me a pop-up that looks like this if you see that it usually means that the competition is quite low
4:01 as is the search volume okay step two content generation so let me start this by showing you
4:08 medium's guidelines on ai generated content this is as of september 2024 now clearly you should not
4:16 be generating a bunch of ai dribble and posting it straight to medium that's not going to build value
4:21 it not going to get anyone to click on a call to action you need to lead with quality and value So all that being said our goal with this strategy is not to join their partner program So based on these guidelines you be allowed to post AI generated drivel
4:37 if you didn't want to be in their partner program. But don't do that. AI generated drivel, even if it
4:43 ranks, it's not likely to stay ranked for long and it isn't likely to generate successful conversion.
4:48 It is very easy to add the disclaimer that Medium wants to see for AI-assisted content,
4:54 and that's what we'll be focusing on, AI-assisted content.
4:58 So speaking of that, here's the prompt that we use to produce AI-assisted content with
5:04 Claude 3.5 Sonnet.
5:05 The prompt, of course, works with a variety of AI assistants, but recently I did a comparison
5:09 of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Genesis, and Claude.
5:13 Of course, Claude was the clear winner in that, so I'm going to suggest that you use
5:17 Claude for this.
5:17 Step three, human editing. AI is great for content production, but as I mentioned, it's definitely
5:23 still in the assistant phase. You still should always rely on human editing to check and improve
5:29 the content. AI makes a lot of mistakes with its content, so you do need to fact check it.
5:34 And while you're fact checking it, you should be adding human experience, human knowledge to it,
5:38 human anecdotes, and then run that AI through an AI detector. Yes, AI detectors are often terrible
5:45 and they don't work as well as they claim.
5:47 Most of the ones that I've seen claim a 97% success rate,
5:50 but they're super easy to fool.
5:52 That being said, a lot of platforms are using these tools
5:55 to scan content submissions, and Medium might start soon,
5:59 and we might wanna use some of these other platforms.
6:01 So you don't wanna be flagged.
6:03 Future-proof it by getting a low score
6:05 on the AI content detectors.
6:07 Step four, publish.
6:09 So publish this content to your Medium account.
6:11 Insert your call-to-action links and post it.
6:13 For a lot of long tail keywords, the highly trusted and highly relevant domain of medium.com
6:19 is going to be enough to rank almost immediately.
6:22 But if we wanted to pour some gasoline on that fire, or maybe target some higher competition
6:27 keywords, we know that Google rewards sites that have links from other trusted websites.
6:32 I promised you earlier, I wouldn't need you to buy a bunch of links for this, and you
6:36 won't.
6:37 So step five we going to go to additional platforms I have a list of hundreds of websites with strong trusted domains that allow publishing content similar to Medium Almost all of them are free to use
6:50 That list is also available in my free school community.
6:53 I'll put a link in the description as I said earlier.
6:55 So we won't want to publish the exact same content on these other platforms that we did
6:59 on Medium, but we do want them to be related.
7:02 So to get related content ideas, we're going to search for our target keyword in Google
7:06 and look for the people also ask section.
7:09 If there isn't a people also ask section, just add the word how or what to the target
7:13 keyword.
7:14 Grab one of the people also ask questions and copy the content that you've already written
7:19 for Medium.
7:20 You're going to give Claude this prompt and it's going to rewrite that content for the
7:24 other platform focusing on answering the related question.
7:28 So it's going to be highly relevant content but unique from what you've already published
7:32 on Medium.
7:33 As before, you're going to check it with AI detector tool, you're going to add links to
7:37 medium article and you're going to add maybe one call to action link maybe this article will also
7:42 rank and then you're going to post it to that platform for a lot of target keywords we might
7:46 want to do three to five additional platforms beyond medium and again the number we do depends
7:53 on how competitive the keyword is whether it's ranking or not step six indexing of course we need
7:58 to get all of this content indexed just like a tree falling in the forest if google doesn't index
8:03 it it doesn't really exist now i did a whole video breaking down exactly how to get content indexed
8:09 in just minutes but let me give you the highlights first you can source other external links to the
8:15 content you want indexed second you can use social signals or blog comment and the third way is to
8:21 use a paid tool like indexmenow.com very very inexpensive works really well okay step seven
8:28 The last step, build EEAT. This is another opportunity to pour even more gasoline on that fire.
8:34 Now after Google had that massive attribute leak, we learned that Google does index author's name
8:39 and authority. If you take the time to do this, you'll see the content in the similar topics will
8:44 index and rank faster and faster in the future. Building EEAT is a long-term strategy. To get an
8:51 idea for what you should do for that, to build EEAT for AI-generated content, I want you to check
8:56 out this full video I did on how exactly to do it

Caleb Ulku presents a step-by-step strategy for ranking content on Google's first page within days by publishing on Medium.com, leveraging its high domain authority and topical breadth. The method involves using AI (specifically Claude 3.5 Sonnet) to generate keyword-targeted content for low-competition long-tail keywords, human-editing it for quality and EEAT compliance, then amplifying it by publishing related (not duplicate) content on additional high-authority platforms with backlinks to the Medium article. The strategy avoids paid backlinks entirely and is designed to work for local business lead generation, affiliate marketing, or agency client acquisition. Additional steps include fast indexing via social signals or tools like IndexMeNow, and building author EEAT for compounding long-term results.

Leveraging Domain Authority for Fast SEO Rankings AI-Assisted Content Creation Workflow Multi-Platform Content Distribution Strategy Content Monetization Methods Google's 2024 Algorithm Priorities Caleb Alku
  • Publish on Medium.com to instantly borrow its domain authority and topical relevance — target long-tail, low-competition keywords using AI-generated keyword research prompts, then verify competition using Ahrefs' free keyword explorer.
  • Use Claude 3.5 Sonnet to produce AI-assisted content (not raw AI output), then human-edit it for accuracy, add personal anecdotes, run it through an AI detector to get a low score, and include a disclosure — this keeps you compliant with Medium's guidelines while maintaining quality.
  • After publishing on Medium, rewrite related content (based on 'People Also Ask' questions) for 3–5 additional high-authority publishing platforms, linking back to the Medium article to build internal relevance and ranking signals without buying backlinks.
  • Accelerate indexing by sourcing external links to new content, using social signals, or using a paid tool like IndexMeNow.com — Google must index the content for the strategy to work.
  • Build author EEAT (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) over time so future content on similar topics ranks faster and more consistently.
Q&A 17
What is the core SEO strategy described in this video for ranking content quickly?

The strategy involves leveraging another domain's authority and relevance to rank content fast, specifically by publishing on Medium.com. Instead of building backlinks or waiting months for results, you publish optimized content on a highly trusted, topically relevant domain (Medium) that Google already trusts. The full process involves keyword research, AI-assisted content creation, human editing, publishing on Medium, republishing related content on additional trusted platforms, getting content indexed, and building EEAT.

Why is Medium.com recommended as the platform for this fast-ranking SEO strategy?

Medium.com is recommended because it meets three critical criteria for this strategy: (1) Google highly trusts it as a domain, (2) it has topical relevance across many different topics, and (3) it allows anyone to easily publish content. Additionally, Medium saw massive traffic growth from 9 million to over 30 million monthly visitors following a major Google update, and you can create an account and publish on it in just minutes.

What types of monetization are allowed when publishing on Medium.com?

Medium allows several monetization methods: (1) linking to your own website to generate leads for services, (2) using affiliate links as long as you disclose that you're using them, (3) using local content to generate leads for local businesses (e.g., an article about water heater replacement in Houston), (4) writing content to grow your own agency, and (5) building a community or email list to later monetize through offers, paid tiers, affiliates, one-on-one coaching, or other audience monetization methods.

What kind of keywords should you target for this Medium SEO strategy?

You should target long-tail, low-competition keywords on topics you can monetize. For example, instead of broad terms, you'd target something like 'how to do SEO for a plumber in Houston' — a very specific, low-competition long-tail keyword. You can use AI to generate a list of these keywords, and then verify their competitiveness using Ahrefs' free keyword explorer tool or by simply Googling the keyword and evaluating the strength of currently ranking websites.

How can you check if a keyword is low competition without paying for expensive tools?

You have two free options: (1) Use Ahrefs' free keyword explorer tool — if it shows a pop-up when you search a keyword, it typically means competition and search volume are quite low. (2) Simply type the keyword into Google and look at the websites currently ranking for it, then assess how strong those websites are. If the ranking sites are weak or low-authority, the keyword is likely low competition.

What is Medium's policy on AI-generated content as of September 2024?

As of September 2024, Medium discourages posting pure AI-generated 'drivel' straight to the platform, especially if you want to join their Partner Program. However, AI-assisted content is allowed as long as you include a proper disclaimer. The video strongly recommends focusing on AI-assisted content (where AI helps write but a human edits and improves it) rather than fully automated AI output, both because Medium requires the disclaimer and because pure AI content is unlikely to rank long-term or generate conversions.

Which AI tool is recommended for writing SEO content for this strategy, and why?

Claude 3.5 Sonnet is recommended as the best AI tool for writing content in this strategy. The creator compared ChatGPT, Perplexity, Genesis, and Claude, and Claude was the clear winner in content quality. That said, the prompts used in this strategy are designed to work with a variety of AI assistants.

Why is human editing important when using AI to generate SEO content?

Human editing is essential for several reasons: (1) AI makes factual mistakes, so you need to fact-check the content. (2) AI content benefits greatly from added human experience, knowledge, and anecdotes that make it more authentic and valuable. (3) Human editing helps the content pass AI content detectors, which many platforms use to scan submissions — getting a low AI-detection score future-proofs your content. Even though AI detectors are often inaccurate, you don't want your content flagged on Medium or other platforms.

Should you worry about AI content detectors, and how should you handle them?

While AI detectors are often unreliable and claim accuracy rates they don't fully deliver (most claim 97% success but are easy to fool), you should still aim for a low AI-detection score. Many platforms use these tools to scan content submissions, and Medium may start doing so in the future. Running your content through an AI detector and editing it to score low is a way to future-proof your content and avoid being flagged on current and future platforms you want to publish on.

What is the purpose of publishing on additional platforms beyond Medium in this SEO strategy?

Publishing on additional trusted platforms serves two purposes: (1) It creates backlinks from other trusted websites to your Medium article, which Google rewards — helping boost rankings for more competitive keywords. (2) Some of those additional articles may also rank on their own, giving you more visibility. The strategy recommends publishing on 3 to 5 additional platforms beyond Medium, depending on how competitive the target keyword is and whether the Medium article is already ranking.

How do you create unique but related content for additional platforms without duplicating your Medium article?

To create related but unique content for other platforms, follow these steps: (1) Search your target keyword in Google and find the 'People Also Ask' section. If there's no PAA section, add 'how' or 'what' to your keyword. (2) Pick one of those related questions. (3) Copy your already-written Medium content and give it to Claude with a prompt asking it to rewrite the content focused on answering that related question. The result will be highly relevant to your topic but unique from your Medium article. Then add links back to your Medium article and one call-to-action link before publishing.

How do you get your Medium and other platform articles indexed by Google quickly?

There are three methods to get content indexed quickly: (1) Source external links pointing to the content you want indexed — this signals to Google to crawl it. (2) Use social signals or blog comments to create activity around the content. (3) Use a paid indexing tool like IndexMeNow.com, which is described as very inexpensive and effective. The creator also mentions having a full dedicated video on getting content indexed in just minutes.

What is EEAT and why does it matter for this SEO strategy?

EEAT stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness — a set of quality signals Google uses to evaluate content. It matters for this strategy because after Google's major attribute leak, it was confirmed that Google indexes author names and authority. Building EEAT means establishing the author's credibility so that content in similar topics will index and rank faster over time. While it's a long-term strategy, it amplifies the results of the Medium publishing approach and is especially important when using AI-assisted content.

What are some practical examples of how to use this Medium SEO strategy to generate business leads?

Two practical examples are given: (1) Local business lead generation — write an article about 'water heater replacement in Houston,' use soft call-to-actions, link to informational pages, and include proper disclosures. This can generate leads for a local HVAC or plumbing business. (2) Agency growth — write content like 'how to do SEO for a plumber in Houston,' targeting a very low-competition long-tail keyword. A plumber searching for that term finds your content, which can lead them to hire your SEO agency.

How much time and money does this SEO strategy require?

The strategy is designed to take less than 30 minutes of your time and uses primarily free tools. Medium.com is free to create an account and publish on. Ahrefs offers a free keyword explorer tool. The AI tools like Claude have free tiers. The only potential cost is an optional paid indexing tool like IndexMeNow.com, which is described as 'very inexpensive.' The AI prompts used in the strategy are also available for free in the creator's School community.

Why doesn't simply publishing on a high-authority domain like WebMD guarantee good rankings?

High domain authority alone isn't enough — topical relevance also matters. For example, if you published an article about water heater replacement on WebMD.com, it would not rank well because WebMD has no topical relevance for plumbing topics. However, an article about a specific medical term on WebMD would likely rank almost immediately because it aligns with WebMD's established topical authority. This is why Medium.com is ideal for this strategy — it has both Google's trust AND broad topical relevance across many different subjects.

What are the 7 steps in this AI SEO strategy to rank on Google's first page using Medium?

The 7-step strategy is: (1) Keyword Research — use AI to generate a list of low-competition, long-tail keywords on monetizable topics. (2) Content Generation — use AI (preferably Claude 3.5 Sonnet) with a specific prompt to produce high-quality AI-assisted content. (3) Human Editing — fact-check, add human experience/anecdotes, and run through an AI detector to get a low score. (4) Publish — post the content to Medium with call-to-action links. (5) Additional Platforms — publish related (not duplicate) content on 3-5 other trusted domains with links back to your Medium article. (6) Indexing — use external links, social signals, or a tool like IndexMeNow.com to get content indexed fast. (7) Build EEAT — establish author authority to accelerate future rankings.
